Please be aware that the SCA and Middle Kingdom have implemented the attached policy and procedure beginning on October 13, 2021. The applies to all official SCA activities including events, practices, meetings, etc.

Please read the policies and contact us if you have any questions before attending practice Sunday. This policy will be in strict effect.

COVIDSafe Procedures for the Middle Kingdom

Intent

The intent of this procedure is to provide guidance for groups on how to implement the SCA policy. Please realize that the requirement for a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of the event or proof of vaccination is in effect for every SCA event. Recognize that an official SCA event is any official meeting of the group, be it a business meeting, fight practice, weekend event, or demo. Any event that is covered by SCA insurance must adhere to this policy.

Ultimately the Seneschal of the group is responsible for ensuring that the policy is met.

Additional changes to COVID policies effective date 03/07/2022

Corpora has updated their guidance with regard to two of the policies we are following in the Midrealm and as such we have to update our procedures.

Contact tracing

Effective immediately the requirement to gather contact tracing information and/or preregister for an event is lifted. You are still expected to post the COVID disclaimer on all event websites and prominently on site. What this means to you: You may still request pre-registration through SCArs but you may now also accept attendees at the door and accept payment at troll the day of the event. If you wish to encourage pre-registration to facilitate planning you may choose to increase the cost of day of event cost, e.g. $15 in advance, $20 day of registration. You no longer have to collect a contact tracing sheet at each event or meeting.

COVID SAFE

The requirement to check that each attendee has proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event remains however the manner of attesting to that fact has changed. At check in or at a local meeting, the documents must be viewed and then the member will sign an attestation confirming that they have provided such proof. Every person in attendance, including staff must sign the document. This document must then be sent to the waiver deputy within 30 days of the event/meeting/practice ([email protected]) where it will be filed and kept for 7 years. The attestation has been attached to the email.

What this means to you:

Proof of vaccination can be checked with proof of membership or preregistration at the gate of an event. Busy events may have more than one sheet simultaneously. The COVIDSAFE attestation is now treated identically to every other waiver. There is no requirement for only a single checker or check in by letter of last name. This will speed up the process of checking in for events. Each person at the event/meeting/practice must have their proof checked by someone and they must sign the form.

Midrealm Tiers

With the removal of the SCA corpora requirement for pre-registration/contact tracing the tiers will remain the same with the exception that Tier 1 will now essentially mean return to pre-pandemic norms.
